PCR’S 40TH ANNIVERSARY PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

 

  • 1977- PCR Established to administer the State Loan Guarantee Program, which it continues to manage today by issuing guarantees up to $2.5 million to banks in support of small business loans.

  • 1978- RD Lottie, Jr. hired as President/CEO.

  • 1987- PCR starts the Entrepreneurial Training Institute, including classroom training and one on one counseling to small business owners.This was the precursor to the current SBDC.

  • 1988- PCR chosen by the state to administer the Century Freeway Bond Guarantee program to assure participation by women and minority contractors in the construction of the 105 Freeway.

  • 1991- Mark Robertson Joins PCR as Chief Credit Officer.

  • 1992- PCR chosen to administer the State’s Disaster Loan Guarantee program to aid businesses damaged in the Los Angeles riots of that year.

  • 1994- PCR chosen to administer the State’s Disaster Loan Guarantee program to aid businesses damaged in the Northridge earthquake.

  • 1995- PCR selected by the US Economic Development Administration (EDA) as a recipient of a $3 million revolving loan fund grant to aid businesses damaged in the Northridge earthquake, with loans up to $650,000.

  • 2001- PCR becomes a SBA micro lender.

  • 2002- RD Lottie, Jr. retires, Mark Robertson promoted to President/CEO.

  • 2003- PCR becomes an SBA SCORE site.

  • 2006- selected by Comerica Bank as a recipient of a $500,000 revolving loan fund grant for micro loans up to $25,000.

  • 2007- PCR becomes an award-winning SBA Small Business Development Center.

  • 2009- PCR is certified by the US Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).

  • 2012- PCR certified by the SBA as a Community Advantage lender.

  • 2014- PCR chosen by LA Metro to administer its $10 million Business Interruption Fund.

  • 2015- PCR chosen by the EDA to assume management of a $400,000 revolving loan fund grant from a local municipality.

  • 2015- PCR receives the largest private investment in its history of $2.5 million from City National Bank.

  • 2016- PCR selected by the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank (IBANK) as a Jump Start to Wealth lender, allowing for micro loans from $500 to $10,000.

  • 2017- PCR will begin a collaboration with Los Angeles County Neighborhood Housing Services in the Compton-based Center for Sustainable Communities.

  • 2017- PCR Turns 40!
